So I've been on hold with the nice people at visa for about half an hour now.
Why? Do you ask?
Because Zoom airlines had to go BANKRUPT right before I leave for England and now I have to get a refund for my $737 ticket, but I can only do that through the dispute manager (who I should write about more often because she just picked up. Hi Cathy)

So apparently it will take 45-55 days for my possible refund to go through...
Zoom actually hasn't declared bankruptcy yet, so I have to wait until the 10th, at which time they will start paperwork for my ticket as "Services not rendered" and seek recourse that way.

In the meantime, I'm out $737, but still have to go to England. Good grief I hope I get a job right away! Otherwise I'm pretty much screwed for cash flow...sad day.

I'm really bad at goodbyes. So far there has been one. It went pretty well, considering how I usually act around goodbyes.
I'm the one who cries, with the big tears and the splotchy face and the hiccupy sobs... it's not a very attractive last image. I try to avoid them at all costs. Yet, for some reason, in a fit of what can only be described as genius, I decided that it would be a cool idea to move across the planet and live by myself in a completely different country.
That means a lot of goodbyes. For serious, what was I thinking? This could possibly be the most ugly two weeks of my life. Good thing my friends love the drama!

I leave for England in 18 days.

Granted, all the necessary paperwork has to go through and get approved, but 18 days. It's a little intimidating, and almost too close. I'm not ready at all - I haven't begun to organize my things or plan on what's going to happen with my car and insurance...this is not like me at all. I don't even know where I'm going to live. Essentially, in 18 (well, 19 if you count the time change) days, I will be unemployed and homeless. Oy vey.

But all this talk of being unorganized is making me nervous...I think it's time for bed.
And maybe a stiff drink.
